What kind of game is Typhon?

Typhon is a next-generation multiplayer sci-fi strategy game where you program bots to complete missions on the hostile planet Typhon. The gameplay focuses on coding, strategy, and problem-solving rather than fast reflexes or grinding.

Do I need to know how to code to play Typhon?

Yes, basic programming knowledge is required. Players use Python to program their bots’ behavior for missions. The game is designed to help you learn and improve your coding skills through hands-on challenges.

What programming language does Typhon use? Will others be supported?

Currently, Typhon uses Python for bot programming. The development team is considering support for other languages in the future, but Python is the only language available at this stage.

What types of missions and modes are available?

Typhon offers:
Single-player missions to teach programming and game mechanics
TBA: Cooperative Bot vs Environment (BvE) missions for teams of 3–10 players
TBA: Competitive Bot vs Bot (BvB) multiplayer battles, including tournaments and free-for-alls with up to 30 players.

Is Typhon a real-time or asynchronous game?

Typhon features asynchronous multiplayer. You don’t need to be online at the same time as your teammates or opponents. Once bots are programmed and submitted, missions can be run and reviewed at your convenience.
